Nippon - Tei

Since my uncle and aunt were in Bangkok for a short visit, our very generous 'bagkok-aunty' brought us to this fabulous Japanese place. I LOVE Japanese food. i don't remember when did i learn to eat raw fish, but i just LOVE it sooo much. i remember when i first tried japanese food, i didn't dare to touch anything raw, but now, i just want everything raw!!!.. :)

This FAB Japanese place is located at the basement of a Japanese company. I don't recall the name of the company but if u take the BTS to Rachatewi station (one of the exits), the building is right beside the exit.

This place is quite costly for ppl like me!.. but quality wise, i won't mind spending the money for real food like this!... I heard there's a branch in Paragon but it's fusion. This one here.. is authentic!..:)

Appetizer....

Jap Tofu

My sister love this.. but for me.. it's just okay.. i expect it to be jello-like soft . But the texture was more like super soft cheese...

Kimbap?!?

This is really good.. one of the best i've ever eaten so far.. I have no idea what they put inside... but i know there's something crispy inside that made the whole thing so delicious!!.. two thumbs up for this!!

I don't know if they really have this in Japan, but the idea of "Yam" raw rish just reminds me to Thailand...

ok.. i love love this.. esp the butter fish (white in color).. i didn't try the darker skin color fish on the right side of the butter fish, simply becuase it looks a lil scary to me and the flesh is very fatty. My sis tried it and she said i might not like it.. so therefore, didn't try. I think she finish everything coz apparently, my uncle and aunt are not fans of raw fish.. :D

Nothing much with the main dish, coz it's what u can get in other Japanese restaurant. Taste wise, it's very nice and very Japanesy. :)

Dessert

I had a 150 baht Green Tea ice cream (LOL! one scoop only!!.. WT?!)
It was different from the other green tea ice-cream that i've tried before. i'm not sure if its worth 150 baht..haha.. but all i can say is.. this green tea ice-cream is very pure. The green tea is very strong and u can hardly taste the dairy in it. Compared to what i've tasted before, those were very milky. so there goes the 150 baht for the pureness of it!.. :D

Ttoek

I blogged about this in one of my korea trip entry. Suprisingly, they have it here as well.. :) but yes, it does taste a lil different. Instead of steaming it, this one they sort of grilled it a lil on the outside to give a crispy texture to the Ttoek.

uncle elvin and aunty patchara loving the food!!.. :)

and of course, i love it too.. =)

the only raw food i'm inclined to consume is salad, or anything pickled... but i'm guessing pickled products wouldn't be considered raw as it would have had preservatives and all sorts of chemical we may not know of.

but gosh those pictures got me salivating.
