Tteok
'Ttoek ' (pronounced as tok! like the sound of a knocking door) is a kind of cake, made of rice!.. basically it's rice cake.. but not those 'ketupat' or 'ko chong' kinna rice cake.. this one is really like a cake!.. but instead of using those cake flour, they use rice flour instead. It does not exactly taste like the normal cake, but it does look exactly like one. If you eat it.. u can tell it's not a 'normal' cake.. hehe...oh.. and u don't bake them.. there are many kinds of Ttoek.. the one that is closest to cake.. i think u steam them instead... the others u can either pan fry or pound them...
Koreans eat 'ttoek' on many occasions, birthday, anniversary, new year etc... and there are many Ttoek bakeries in korea and all of them look too nice to be eaten..

White Day..
It started off in Japan in the 1970's... ever since then, it has been a tradition in Japan and later on South Korea, and Taiwan observe this day as well. Similar to Valentines day, white day is when the guys give candies to the girls as a sign of thankfulness and love. Basically Valentines day is for girls to give to boys and one month later, on March 14, it's "white day" which is the boy's turn to give something sweet ( candies most of the time) to the girls.. of all names why white day?..... i have no idea!.. maybe because it's winter and snowy and that's why it's white?... hehe.. just a wild guess..
my box of candies..
bang.. bang..!!

phew~.. America.. not a very safe place after all..
Got this email from school about and hour later..
this is what happen..
About 6:30 pm on Sunday, March 8, a shot was fired in the area of Sierra Vista Avenue and Riverwalk Parkway. An off-duty Corona police officer saw the alleged shooter, a white male age 20-25. The suspect then fled the scene toward the LSU campus. Riverside Police Department officers arrived on the scene quickly, began searching the track and gym area for any evidence.
Another witness reported seeing the suspect in the area of the library. RPD officers moved their search to the library, Ambs Hall/MICOL, physical plant, and the campus property surrounding those buildings. A third witness saw the suspect in the area of Upper Campus Drive and Raley.
Following a systematic search of the upper campus area, RPD concluded the suspect had fled the campus into the neighborhood bordering the campus. Additionally, the Riverside Police Department officers do not believe that this situation was directed at any student, nor do they believe this person has any connection to the campus. They are of the opinion that this was a random occurrence. As of 8:20 pm, no arrests had been made, and no weapon was found.
The campus electronic alert system was operational during the situation. The all clear notice to the campus was sent out at 8:10 pm.
Throughout the situation, the president, provost, vice president for student life, the dean of students, and campus pastor were on campus in key locations. Campus buildings were quickly secured, and students were encouraged to stay inside for the duration of the situation. Campus security officers worked in close cooperation with Riverside Police Department during the search.
While La Sierra University continues to be a very safe campus, this situation reminds us all of the need to be aware of our surroundings at all times. All of us together make for a safer campus. Thanks to our security department for their quick, professional response to the situation.
Credit to LSU for keeping us informed and updated for whatever is happening in campus.
